Subarnapur: At least one person was killed and another sustained critical injury after the bike they were travelling on, hit a roadside tree on Jaunra-Bhaunra road under Ulunda block in Subarnapur district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Lalit Bhibar of Saraguna village under Binika police limits.
As per the report, Lalit was returning his home by his bike after completing some assignment in a neighbouring village with a friend when the crash took place. He lost control over the wheels of the two-wheeler and ended up hitting a tree near Jalatangar which killed him on the spot.
The injured pillion rider whose identity is yet to be ascertained was rushed to Ulunda Hospital by police later. His condition is stated to be unstable.
Police have seized the mangled bike and started an investigation into the case.
