2 killed as truck, LPG tanker go up in flames after collision in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: In a tragic road mishap, at least two persons were killed after a truck and an LPG tanker crashed head-on in front of Jujumura Police Station on National Highway-55 last night.

The deceased duo, identified as the drivers of both the vehicles were charred to death on the spot as the tanker caught fire post the accident.

As per the report, the tanker carrying a fuel consignment was en-route to its destination when the driver of the truck which was coming from the opposite direction failed to spot it and ended up in an intense collision.

Fire officials from Jujumura rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in a Herculean effort. Later, the bodies of the deceased were recovered from the vehicles.

Jujumura Police have reached the spot for investigation. It said the death toll might increase as the helper of the truck is missing and feared charred to death.
