1 killed, 20 others sick after consuming illicit liquor in Rayagada

Rayagada: At least one person was killed and 20 others taken ill after consuming spurious liquor in Kalayansinghpur block of Rayagada district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Dhepagada village of the same block.

As per the report, a group of people from Kalayansinghpur area had purchased and consumed country-made liquor available at a shop in local market in the morning. They developed symptoms like head reeling, nausea, vomiting later in the morning.

While all the victims were rushed to different hospitals across the area, one of the reportedly succumbed of late.

Meanwhile, Rayagada Collector has ordered a probe into the matter.
