Rajasthan: 7 killed, 8 injured after truck-multi-utility vehicle collision in Dungarpur

At least seven people were killed and eight injured after a truck and a vehicle collided in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district on Sunday.

Rajasthan: In a tragic road accident, at least seven people were killed and eight were left injured after a truck and a vehicle collided in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district on Sunday.

The incident occurred near the Ratnapur border on the Delhi-Mumbai National Highway, Bichhiwada police station SHO Madanlal said.

The police said all seven people died on the spot, their bodies scattered on the road.

The accident occurred when the brakes of the truck failed and it rammed into the Force Trax Cruise, a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) capable of seating up to 13 people. Due to this, the MUV was overturned, they said.

According to the police, a total of 21 people were travelling in the MUV, which was en route to Ahmedabad from Dungarpur.

Shockingly, some passengers were even sitting on the roof of the vehicle when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle was also killed, the police said.

According to one of the occupants of the ill-fated vehicle, four of the victims were identified as Dhanpal (24), Hemant (21), Rakesh (25), and Mukesh (25) while a girl aged around 14 years and two other bodies are yet to be identified, police said.
