BSP suspends its MP Danish Ali for ‘indulging in anti-party activities’

New Delhi: In a major happening, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has suspended its MP Danish Ali on Saturday. The reason of this suspension has been said – ‘indulging in anti-party activities’.

Kunwar Danish Ali is the MP from Amroha constituency in Uttar Pradesh since 2019. He joined Bahujan Samaj Party in March 2019.

In a letter BSP said Ali (in Hindi) that despite previous warnings, he continued to engage himself in activities detrimental to the party’s (BSP) interests which constitute a clear violation of the party’s ideologies as a member.

Specifically, your past association with the Janata Party in Karnataka during the 2018 elections raises concerns about your commitment to our party’s principles. At that time, you accepted a ticket from Amroha under the condition of working for the BSP. However, your actions during and after the elections suggest that you did not uphold this commitment, the letter that was addressed to Danish Ali said.

Reacting on the suspension MP Danish Ali said, “…Her (BSP chief Mayawati) decision is unfortunate. I have never engaged in any kind of anti-party activities. The people of my Amroha are witness to this. I have opposed the anti-people policies of the BJP’s government and will continue to do so…If doing this is a crime, then I have committed this crime, and I am ready to face the punishment for it…”. ANI reported this in a X post (formerly Twitter) along with the video of the MP on Saturday.
