Actor Lena announces marriage with Gaganyaan astronaut Prasanth Nair
Thiruvananthapuram: Well-known Malayalam actor Lena has announced that she is married to Gaganyaan astronaut Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. The actress revealed it on Instagram on Tuesday.
She took to her official Instagram handle and mentioned that the couple got married on January 17, 2024.
Sharing a montage featuring her with husband Prashanth Nair, the actress wrote, “Today 27 February 2024 our Prime Minister Modi ji Awarded the First Indian Astronaut Wings to Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. It is a historic moment of pride for our Country, our state of Kerala and Me personally.”
Further announcing their marriage, she said, “In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January, 2024 in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage.”
The announcement came after, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed the four astronaut-designates for Gaganyaan mission during his visit to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). He announced Group Captain Prashanth Nair, Group Captain Angad Prathap, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla will be the as the astronaut-designates for the mission.
It is worth mentioning here that the Gaganyaan Mission is India’s first human space flight program for which extensive preparations are underway at various ISRO centres.
In the work front of Lena, she is an Indian film actress who appears predominantly in Malayalam cinema and Tamil cinema. Lena has majorly featured Malayalam films and Tamil cinema. She has over 100 films to her credit in Malayalam along with films in English, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. Some of her films are ‘Koottu’, ‘De Ingottu Nokkiye’, ‘Big B’ and ‘Sneham’.
