At least 12 people were hospitalized after ammonia gas leaked from the pipeline of a building in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu: At least 12 people were hospitalized after ammonia gas leaked from the pipeline of a building in Tamil Nadu. The incident took place during the late night hours of Tuesday, said reliable reports in this regard. The ammonia gas leaked from the building of a private company in Ennore district of Tamil Nadu.

The Ammonia gas leak incident took place in the operational building of Coromandel International Limited. Reportedly, it is a fertilizer company uses ammonia as raw material. At around 12:45 am, officials were informed about the incident. The incident allegedly took place amidst the pre-cooling operation of the pipeline.

The ammonia gas leak in Tamil Nadu caused panic among the local people. People complained of uneasiness and difficulty in breathing. Upon receiving information about the incident, police and district administration arrived at the location and took necessary measures.

The injured ones were rushed to the Stanley hospital for immediate medical attention. Reliable sources informed that the condition of the injured people is currently stable. Further, the situation at the company has been controlled as well.
