  1. Bhubaneswar Double Encounter: Police Bust Spurious Liquor Manufacturing Unit

In the latest development to the double encounter case in Bhubaneswar, police have busted a spurious liquor manufacturing unit run by both the noted criminals. Sipun Kabi and Harekrushna Swain who were involved in a number of cases of robbery and snatching were nabbed after a police encounter near Tankapani Road. Police today raided an apartment near Uttara where both the accused has been staying on rent for past few months.

  1. IMD Issues Rain, Lightning Alert For Seven Odisha Districts

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted lightning and a brief spell of rain in seven districts of Odisha on Sunday evening.  One or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Cuttack districts will experience light thundershower and lightning with one or two spells of rainfall between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM today,” said a released issued by the centre

  1. Odisha Minister Of State For Home Inspects Choudwar Circle Jail Inspects Choudwar Circle Jail

Minister of state for home Dibya Shankar Mishra on Sunday visited the Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack and held discussions with the inmates. The minister was accompanied by Prisons DG Mahendra Pratap, DIG, Gopabandhu Mallick and Superintendents of 19 Jails across the State. The inspection of the jail lasted for around two hours.

  1. Kashmir Turmoil: Govt Scraps Article 370 Providing Special Status To J&K

Home Minister Amit Shah announced in Rajya Sabha today that Article 370 of the Constitution, which grants the state of Jammu and Kashmir a special category status will be revoked. Shah also announced that the government will be introducing four Bills on Jammu and Kashmir at once. The Home Minister also moved a resolution in Rajya Sabha that all clauses of Article 370 will not be applicable to Jammu and Kashmir, ruckus ensues in Rajya Sabha.

  1. Bihar: 1 Killed, 13 Injured In Bus Accident

One person was killed and 13 were injured when a passenger bus caught fire after it hit a divider in Bihar’s Purnea district in the early hours of Monday, a police officer said. The bus, carrying around 45 passengers, was going to Siliguri from Muzaffarpur via Purnea, Superintendent of Police Vishal Sharma said. The accident took place at 3.15 am when the bus was about to reach Purnea bus stand near NH 31, he said.
