Bhubaneswar: In a latest development to the double encounter case in Bhubaneswar, police have busted a spurious liquor manufacturing unit run by both the noted criminals.
Sipun Kabi and Harekrushna Swain who were involved in a number of cases of robbery and snatching were nabbed after a police encounter near Tankapani Road last night.
Police today raided an apartment near Uttara where both the accused has been staying on rent for past few months.
“During the raid, we seized hundreds of spurious foreign liquor bottles from the room. Besides, we have also seized large quantity of ingredients used in liquor manufacturing,” said deputy commissioner of police, Anup Sahoo.
Sahoo also said that the owner of the flat has also been summoned. “We suspect the gang of running liquor unit along with their associates. Further investigation in the case is continuing,” added Sahoo.
