Odisha Minister Of State For Home Inspects Choudwar Circle Jail Inspects Choudwar Circle Jail

Cuttack: Minister of state for home Dibya Shankar Mishra today visited the Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack and held discussions with the inmates.

The minister was accompanied by Prisons DG Mahendra Pratap, DIG, Gopabandhu Mallick and Superintendents of 19 Jails across the State. The inspection of the jail lasted for around two hours.

Mishra after inspection expressed his satisfaction over the facilities inside the jail. “We also held a discussion to start correctional measures to make the jail a model jail. The facilities provided in the jail are up to the mark,” said Mishra to media persons after inspection.  

Currently, more than 950 persons including undertrials are lodged at the Choudwar circle jail. Earlier on Thursday, the minister had also made a surprise visit to Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar.
