Bhubaneswar: After winning the hearts of viewers in last year’s smashing hit ‘Badhaai Ho’, on-screen couple Neena Gupta & Gajraj Rao are back again. They are all set to join Ayushmann Khurrana in Aanand L Rai’s home production ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.’
The trio will be seen in yet another film dealing with a unique subject in the most lighthearted manner. ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is the sequel of 2017 hit Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
Written and directed by Hitesh Kewalya, the sequel addresses a socially relevant story of a couple of the same sex, promising to be a game-changer for love story narratives in India.
Producer Aanand L Rai is happy to bring back the blockbuster couple. Sharing his excitement, the ace director said, “With Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, we chose to explore a novel subject in an unusually unexpected setting. A unique story like this needed talents like Neenaji & Gajraj Rao and I’m so happy to have them onboard.”
Noteworthy, this project will be the second mainstream Bollywood flick to deal with the subject of homosexuality- after Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ which released in February this year.
In ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, Jitendra Kumar, best known for popular web shows like ‘The Viral Fever’ and ‘Kota Factory’, has been roped in to play Ayushmann Khurrana’s love interest.

The film is set to go on floors by the end of this year and is slated to release on February 14, 2020. It will clash with Imtiaz Ali’s next film ‘Aajkal’ starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles.
