Tata Motors To Introduce CNG Powered Cars Soon, Will Give An Efficiency Of 30km

Tata motors is all set to enter the CNG car venture in India. Tata motors will be competing with the likes of Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki in the CNG car sector in India. Tata motors will offer CNG model for the variants of Tiago, Altroz and Tigor.

According to Tata Motors, the company has sold 66,609 vehicles in March 2021. However, the company had managed to sell only 11,012 vehicles in March 2020.

Tata Motors expects rise in sales after the introduction of Factory-fitted CNG kits on its budget cars. On the other hand CNG vehicles will offer more mileage than its petrol counterpart.

However, the CNG vehicles will be expensive as compared to its petrol counterpart.

The Tata Tigor, Tiago and Altroz get a 1.2 litre revetron petrol engine. The 1.2 litre engine generates 6000 rpm per 86 ps of power. The peak torque generated by the vehicle is 113 Nm at 3300rpm.However, the CNG variant will be available in a 5 speed manual transmission. It is expected that the CNG cars will give an efficiency of 30 km/kg.

The Tata Tiago costs between Rs 4.85 lakh to Rs 6.84 lakh while the Tata Altroz costs between Rs 5.69 lakh to Rs 8.25 lakh. On the other hand the Tata Tigor costs between Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 7.63 lakh.
