Stock market: Sensex down 300 pts, Nifty opens around 19,550
The Indian equity indices BSE Sensex dropped 326 points to 65,502, and the NSE Nifty50 fell around 100 points to 19,531.
New Delhi: The equity benchmark indices opened in red on Tuesday with losses. The NSE Nifty 50 opened at 19,622.40, down 16 points, while the BSE Sensex opened at 65,813.42, down 15 points. The Bank Nifty opened at 44,561.50 with 23 points down.
Later, the BSE Sensex dropped 326 points to 65,502, and the NSE Nifty50 fell around 100 points to 19,531.
The top gainers were M&M, Adani Ports, UltraTech Cement, Asian Paints and BPCL. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors, ONGC, Hindalco Industries, Tata Consumer and SBI Life Insurance were among major losers on the Nifty.
