Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 to be available in India around 2024, Know what will it offer

When it comes to bikes with 350cc engine and above, Royal Enfield (RE) stands apart from other Indian bike manufacturers. In the off-roading segment, the Royal Enfield’s Himalayan remains a favourite among bike enthusiasts. However, the company has been planning to launch a 650 variant of the bike with some added enhancements. The company has now given a green light to the project.

However, there are many conceptions of enthusiasts which might not come true.  If you are thinking that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 will be a hardcore off roader just like the Himalayan 400, you are wrong. The Himalayan 650 will have a shorter front wheel at 19 inches along with a higher seat height. It is important to mention that Himalayan 400 had a 21 inches front wheel. The exhaust system of the new bike will be higher than the current one. It is expected that the new Himalayan 650 will shed some weight as it will be more of an adventurer tourer.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 will be an offered in spoked rims as well as alloy wheels. While the spoked wheels version of the Himalayan 650 will be a sports tourer, the latter one will be an adventure tourer. Royal Enfield will however carry forward the major design of the Himalayan, which means that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 will also have a rugged design.

However, RE will keep a different name for the upcoming 650 adventure tourer. We are expecting that the new 650 tourer will have TFT display along with Bluetooth connectivity. The bike will be powered by a parallel twin engine derived from the Interceptor and Continental GT. The 648cc engine will be coupled with a 6 speed gearbox and will churn a maximum power of 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque.

When it comes to price we expect that the new Royal Enfield 650 adventure tourer will cost Rs 4 lakh at ex-showroom. However, the most painful news to all Royal Enfield enthusiasts is that the bike will probably launch in 2024. Till then we have to keep our fingers crossed and hope the expected period does not stretch further.
