Viacom18-owned streaming service platform JioCinema has silently launched a new Premium annual plan at a much cheaper price than the other platforms. The new Premium Annual plan we are talking about costs Rs 599. Moreover, the addition of the introductory offer on the plan reduces the price to half, bringing it down to just Rs 299.
Prior to this plan, JioCinema had an older annual subscription plan that was priced at Rs. 999. However, Jio discontinued the plan last month.
Earlier, JioCinema launched a new monthly plan priced at Rs 59. The monthly plan offered up to 4K resolution streaming services except for sports and live events.
JioCinema Premium Annual Plan
JioCinema users now has a new Premium Plan that costs Rs 599. As part of an introductory offer, customers can avail of a 50 percent discount that brings the price of the subscription down to Rs. 299. However, the price will return to its earlier amount that is Rs 599 after the first 12-month billing cycle is over.
According to the company’s website, the JioCinema Premium Annual plan offers the same benefits as the monthly plan — ad-free streaming of videos including premium content — HBO, Paramount, Peacock, and Warner Bros. — at 4K resolution, on one device. Users can also download and watch content on their devices for offline viewing.
Note that except for ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament and other sports and live events, all other three streaming plans will offer ad-free streaming. The sports and live event will be streamed with advertisements.
The new Premium Annual plan is also much cheaper than the older annual subscription option that was priced at Rs. 999, and was discontinued last month.
Last month, JioCinema introduced a Premium Family subscription priced at Rs. 149, with an introductory offer that lowered the subscription price to Rs. 89 for the first month.
Moreover, with a monthly Rs 59 plan, the JioCinema subscription is cheaper than other streaming platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar (monthly price Rs 299), Netflix (mobile plan starts at Rs 149), and Amazon Prime Video(Subscription fee per month Rs 299). Both Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video has an annual subscription cost of Rs 1,499.
