Luxury Carmaker Land Rover to launch all-electric Range Rover SUV by 2024

When it comes to automobile market, the dominance of electric vehicle is growing at a rapid pace. Luxury vehicle manufacturer Land Rover has announced that it would add an all-electric Range Rover to its line-up by 2024. The company revealed this information as it unveiled the 2022 Range Rover.

The British luxury carmaker has plans to launch six electric vehicles in the upcoming years. The all-electric Range Rover will be the first vehicle of the upcoming electric fleet and will be available by 2024. The electric Range Rover will give a tough competition to BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. Even though the all-electric Range Rover will not look starkly contrasting to the current petrol/ diesel powered vehicles, there will be major change under the hood.

We are quite unsure whether the upcoming electric Range Rover will borrow the technology from Jaguar’s I-Pace. It is also assumed that this electric Range Rover could borrow technology from the collaboration between JLR and BMW.

The upcoming 2022 Range Rover gets a variety of options to choose from. The buyers can pick from two plug-in hybrids, three diesel-powered and three gas fuelled SUVs. In terms of seat arrangement, the 2022 Range Rover will get configurations of four, five and seven-seats. It is important to note that the new Range Rover will feature a Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA) platform.

In terms of power, the 2022 Range Rover will have six and eight cylinder powertrains. Some of the connectivity functions include Amazon Alexa as integrated voice assistant. The users will also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which will help in better connectivity of the SUV with smartphones.
