Airtel Xstream AirFiber 5G: All details about it’s costs, installation, plans and others

Bharati Airtel has introduced the Xstream AirFiber for wireless 5G connectivity. The telcos has claimed that it is India’s first wireless 5G router. The Airtel Xstream AirFiber is a Fixed Wireless Access(FWA) solution based on the company’s 5G Plus network.

What is Airtel Xstream AirFiber

As mentioned earlier, the Airtel Xstream AirFiber is a Fixed Wireless Access(FWA) solution powered by Airtel’s 5G Plus network. It is a wireless 5G service similar to wireless 4G dongles. However, it will provide much faster data, low latency and better coverage than the dongle like the broadband service.

The AirFiber is convenient to install in both rural and urban India as they don’t require wiring and digging, etc. Unlike, the Xstream Fiber the Xstream AirFiber is wireless so you also reduce the usage of fiber cables.

Airtel Xstream Fiber is the company’s wired broadband connection that requires a lot of devices, wiring and availability in the region. Airtel AirFiber, on the other hand, aimed at offering a complete wireless solution to users.

The Airtel AirFiber is currently available for purchase via Airtel Store in Delhi and Mumbai only. The company plans to expand it to more regions in the coming weeks.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber Speed

The Airtel AirFiber plan has a high-internet speed of 100Mbps. Though Airtel hasn’t revealed any information about the total data available to use. We expect it to be unlimited (3300GB as per the FUP policy).

AirFiber plans 

The Airtel AirFiber plans announced are Rs 799 per month, Rs 4,435 for 6 months. The prices of plans are excluding taxes, so they might change at the final payment time.

KYC needed for Airtel AirFiber connection

To get the AirFiber connection, subscribers need standard KYC documents to get the connection. Of course, they need to be in one of the supported regions. They just need to install the device, set it up and run it. And it is ready to use.

How to Set up the Device

The users can setup the device themselves by activating a plan and installing the dedicated app to get started with the device.

Airtel AirFiber comes with a separate app of it’s own, which will allow users to set up the device, manage network, security, device access and connections.

Price of Airtel AirFiber device 

Airtel hasn’t revealed the retail price of the AirFiber. The device is only available at a refundable security deposit of Rs 2,500.

How many devices does the AirFiber supports

Airtel claims that the AirFiber device can support connect with up to 64 devices at a time.

Airtel AirFiber device is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 standard which means, it offers better speed, low latency and coverage as well. It also comes with three Ethernet (LAN) ports and a USB Type-A port.
