DS Automobiles, under Stellantis, has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by integrating the ChatGPT AI chatbot into its vehicles. This move positions DS Automobiles as the first automaker to incorporate AI chatbot commands directly into its cars. The integration aims to provide users with quick and accurate responses, offering a seamless interaction experience similar to popular voice assistants like Alexa or Siri.
The integration will undergo a pilot phase for the initial six months, during which access will be granted to the first 20,000 registered users. This phase is set to commence with users of DS 3, DS 4, DS 7, and DS 9 range of cars equipped with an active DS IRIS system.
Users can activate the ChatGPT integration by simply saying “OK IRIS” after pressing the dedicated button on the steering wheel, initiating conversation with the DS IRIS system.
The integration of ChatGPT with the DS IRIS SYSTEM will be provided at no additional cost for the first 20,000 registered users who make a purchase of the specified car models between October 19 and February 29.
Initially, this feature will be available in the European regions, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy. The chatbot will be accessible in the national languages of these countries.
