Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition: What’s New

The Charged Edition is the first limited-edition electric offering of the Copper SE. It is offered in a single Chili Red colour with a dual-tone roof with a white finish. The wing mirrors, Head and tail light surrounds, handles and logos also have a white finish. It also gets matte red stripes on the bonnet, tailgate, sides and boot of the car and air inlets highlighted by yellow stripes. The 17-inch alloy wheels also have the yellow accents.

This will be a completely built unit (CBU). The Charged Edition carries the same interior and features list as the standard Cooper SE. It has an all-black interior with yellow accents. More yellow accents are seen on the inside on the start/stop toggle switch, gear lever and special edition badging on door sills. The features of the Charged Edition include an 8.8-inch touchscreen and a 5.5-inch digital instruments cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and Harmon Kardon sound system, multiple toggle switches and media controls.

Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition powertrains

The Charged Edition is powered by an electric motor making 184hp and 270Nm of torque. It gets power from a 32.6kWh battery. It is claimed to reach a speed of 0-100kph time at 7.3 seconds and 150kph, respectively.

The special edition of the Mini Cooper SE has a WLTP-certified range of up to 270km. It can be charged from 0-80 percent in 36 minutes via a 50kW DC fast charger. Mini offers a 11kW wallbox charger as standard, which can charge the Cooper SE from 0-80 percent in 2 hours and 30 minutes (claimed), while using a 2.3kW charger takes 9 hours 43 minutes (claimed).

The Cooper SE does not have any direct rivals in the market. It will compete against the other EVs in the same price range such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Rs 44.95 lakh), the Volvo XC40 Recharge (Rs 56.90 lakh) and the Kia EV6 (Rs 60.95 lakh-65.95 lakh).
