Given the fact that the Citroen C3 Aircross offers a manual transmission variant only, the update will give the product an edge. The launch of the C3 Aircross AT is expected to be in January end, reported Autocar India. The pricing of the automatic variant is also expected to be competitive.
What to expect
The Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to get a 6-speed torque converter automatic and that is same as the one offered in the model that is on sale in Indonesia. It will be sourced from Japanese transmission maker Aisin. The 6-speed AT is used on the Citroen C3 hatchback that is available in the C3 hatchback. The similar AT gearbox is also used by other manufacturers like Skoda, MG as well as Volkswagen.
The gearbox will be paired with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It is expected that the engine will be offered in higher-spec Plus and Max trims. When it comes to the Indonesian model, the engine produces 190hp of power and 205Nm of torque. The torque has been increased by 15Nm while the power remains the same (as compared to manual model). We also get a manual mode in the gearbox.
When it comes to external features, the Citroen C3 Aircross will is expected to get Halogen headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lamps, 17-inch diamond cut alloys, Front fog lamps and dual-tone paint option. In terms of interior of the vehicle, we will get 10.2-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, manual AC with heater, keyless entry, driver seat manual height adjuster etc.
In terms of safety features, the Citroen C3 Aircross should get multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, hill hold assist, reverse camera, sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system etc.
