Balasore: In an early morning road mishap in the district today, an auto-rickshaw driver was killed after his vehicle suffered overturn near Nilamganj area and fell into a roadside nullah.
The deceased has been identified as Jayant Kumar Das (33), a resident of Telanga Sahi in Balasore district.
As per the report, Das carried a passenger from Balasore Railway Station to DRDO in the wee hours today and was returning home when the accident took place. Some locals spotted him inside the overturned auto-rickshaw in the nullah and called up police.
Police reached the spot and rushed the body for autopsy to start investigation into the incident.
On the other hand, the family members of the deceased have claimed foul play in the incident. They have feared that someone might have killed Das and later thrown into the nullah.
