Mayurbhanj: A youth has been killed by his lover’s husband in Budhigan village under Karanjia police limits in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
The deceased has been identified as Phute Dehuri of the village.
According to reports, three years ago the husband identified as Rupa Hembram of the village was married to Parvati Hembram. Rupa was an employee in the forest department under Dudhiani Range. On the other hand, although his wife Parvati was pregnant but she fell in love with Phute Dehuri and they had decided to get married soon.
On Wednesday, Dehuri and Parvati had ran away from the village in the presence of some locals. But her husband had kept quiet when he got to know that his wife had gone with her lover by her own choice and she was not persuaded.
Around two days later, Parvati informed her husband about her abortion following which the husband got furious. Later on Monday night, he attacked both of them with a sharp weapon when he saw Parvati and her lover together at his house. Phute was killed on the spot whereas the woman sustained critical injuries.
On getting the information, Karanjia police officer Sarojini Singh and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Satya Vikash Bhuyan arrived at the spot. Parvati has been admitted to the Sub-Dvisional Hospital in Karanjia.
The cops have seized the sharp weapon from the spot and sent the body for autopsy. The accused has been arrested and an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
