Thailand: In a recent incident, a man was spotted riding his luxury convertible Bentley car with a lion cub in the back seat of the vehicle. A video of the incident from Pattaya City in Thailand has surfaced online.

The video features a man riding his Bentley with a lion cub with chained collar in the backseat. Originally shared on Facebook, the video has now been doing rounds on the internet. An user on X (formerly Twitter) at the handle @Bangkokboy17 shared the video of the incident.

The video was shared along with the caption, “Viral video of the day: A person – probably from Bangladesh – chauffeurs a four month old lion though the middle of the Pattaya in a rented Bentley convertible. How sick is this? Keep a lion as a pet is cruel! Take a look:

The video of the lion cub being carried inside the Bentley has sparked an outrage among the netizens. Numerous users have termed the incident as “animal cruelty.” Further, another group of netizens questioned if the act was even legal or not.

Reports from the local police state that the video was from the Bang Lamung district of Thailand’s Chonburi province. Police personnel initiated a probe into the matter on January 23. Initial investigation revealed that the man driving the car, a tourist from India, was the friend of the owner of the lion cub. A search operation for the man has been initiated.
