Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude hits Tajikistan border
An earthquake of 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted the land of Tajikistan during the morning hours of Saturday.
Tajikistan: In recent news, an earthquake of 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted the land of Tajikistan during the morning hours of Saturday. The tremors were felt on the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region at 06:42:47 on January 6, 2024, confirmed NCS.
The earthquake struck Tajikistan at a latitude of 27.24 and Longitude of 71.74. The tremors originated from 80 kilometer beneath the earth surface, confirmed reports. However, no immediate injuries or deaths were reported.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) took to their official handle on X (formerly Twitter) to inform about the tremors felt in Tajikistan.
