Oppo A16K with 4,230mAh battery, Helio G35 chipset launched; Price, specifications

Oppo has launched a new budget smartphone in Philippines. The new handset is Oppo A16K, which has been launched under the company’s A-series phones. It is said to be a toned down version of the recently launched  mid-range smartphone Oppo A16, which was introduced in India in September. Oppo A16K comes with a waterdrop-style design display and a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by a Mediatek Helio G35 processor and has a 4,230mAh battery.

Oppo A16K price and availability

The new Oppo A16K’s price in Philippines is at PHP 6,999 (around Rs 10,300) for the single 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The smartphone is currently available for purchase only in the Philippines on Shopee and Lazada in Black and Blue colour options. The device’s global availability and pricing details have not been announced yet. It is not clear whether it will come to the Indian market.

Oppo A16 is priced at Rs 13,990 for the sole 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant in India.

Oppo A16K specifications

The Oppo A16K runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 Lite and features a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with 1,600×720 pixels of resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a pixel density of 269 pixels per inch (ppi). Oppo has climed that the handset features an “eye-care” screen. Oppo A16K carries an octa-core Mediatek Helio G35 processor paired with 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM, under the screen. The device comes with 32GB storage that supports expansion up to 256GB with the help of a microSD card.

For photos and videos, Oppo A16K has a single 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Whereas the Oppo A16 has a triple rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel bokeh (depth) sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It also features Super Power Saving Mode, Night Filters, and Optimised Night Charging.

Oppo A16K’s connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It comes with a 4,230mAh battery with support for 5V/ 2A charging. In terms of dimension, it measures 164.0×75.4×7.85mm and weighs 175 grams.
