Nothing Phone 2a teased to launch in India this week

Nothing has teased that something is coming this week, which is expected to be the hinted towards the launch of Nothing Phone 2a.

The British electronic brand Nothing teased that  “something is coming this week” via a new X (formerly Twitter) post on it’s official handle. This is speculated to be an indication towards the launch of the rumored Nothing Phone 2a. Moreover, a recent listing for a yet-to-be-announced Nothing phone bearing the A142 model number was also seen, which further cements the speculation.

Apart from this, the latest Nothing phone was spotted on regulatory database in India- Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

There’s not much we know in terms of Phone 2a’s specs so far apart from a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel will supposedly have a punch-hole design and house a 16-megapixel selfie camera. At the rear, the upcoming mid-range smartphone will sport dual cameras with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It will also have Nothing’s signature Glyph interface rear panel. The handset is expected to run on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14.

The naming suggests that the Phone 2a will be a more affordable device than the Nothing Phone (2). The Nothing Phone (2) was launched in July this year with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB on-board storage, starting at Rs 44,999. As the Nothing phone launch will likely be this week, we can expect to receive more details soon.

Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone 2 has received a permanent price cut in India. Now, the retail price of Phone 2 has dropped to Rs 39,999.
