New Nokia smartphones expected to launch soon; here’s what we know

Human Mobile Device (HDM) Global recently refreshed its online presence by dropping Nokia branding from all the spheres. Even, Nokia.com is now redirecting to HDM.com, and the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of @nokiamobile has been changed to @HMDglobal after the company signed deal with the latter for 10 years in 2016.

The Finnish company is expected to launch its products, including smartphones. Meanwhile, reports have claimed that new Nokia-branded smartphones have been listed on the IMEI website.

A GSMChina report has claimed that it have spotted nearly 17 new Nokia models on the IMEI website. These models number range from TA-1603 to TA-1628. All these models could be completely different from one another. Reports say that some of the models could also have different RAM and storage variants of a particular model.

The report also adds that some of these models could even launch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The MWC 2024 is scheduled to be held from February 26 to February 29. However, the report does not include any details about these smartphones other than the fact that they do indeed carry the Nokia branding.

It is worth mentioning here that Nokia signed a 10-year deal with HMD Global in 2016, which is set to expire in 2026. Hence, it is not a stretch to expect newer Nokia models to continue gracing the market until then.

Earlier, nine new HMD-branded handsets were spotted on the IMEI website. These HMD-branded handsets could also all be different models. These also could have RAM and/or storage variants of a primary model. One HMD model with the codename N159V was recently leaked in black colour. The N159V is accompanied with a dual rear camera module with an LED flash.

At the same time, another leaked report showed an HMD smartphone that is expected to launch in a blue colour option soon. The smartphone is seen with a 108-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support placed within a rectangular camera module on the top left corner of the back panel. Any official announcement related to the launch of new Nokia smarts phones are yet to be issued.
