Google reveals new powerful Gemini AI model, now available in Bard, Pixel Pro

In the latest news, Google is all set to introduce its advanced AI model called Gemini to users, globally. The model will be integrated into Bard and the latest Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Gemiti 1.0 is optimized for various sizes: Ultra, Pro, and Nano. It represents a significant effort by Google, combining science and engineering to create a versatile AI model.
Gemini is designed to be multimodal, meaning it can understand and operate across different types of information, including text, code, audio, image, and video. Pichai highlighted Gemini’s state-of-the-art performance and its ability to see, understand, and evaluate in real time data.
There are three versions of Gemini: Ultra for complex tasks, Pro for a wide range of tasks, and Nano for on-device tasks. Gemini Nano is already available in Pixel 8 Pro, offering features like summarising in the Recorder App and smart reply in Gboard, starting with WhatsApp. Google plans to roll out Gemini to more products and services like Search, Ads, Chrome, and Duet AI.
Google is currently experimenting with Gemini in Search to make the Search Generative Experience faster, with a 40 percent reduction in latency in English in the US and improvements in quality.
Starting from December 13, developers and enterprise customers can access Gemini PRo via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio or Cloud Google Vertex AI. Android developers can also use Gemini Nano via AICore, a new system capability in Android 14, beginning with Pixel 8 Pro devices. Gemini Ultra is undergoing trust and safety checks and will be available for early experimentation and feedback before its broader release to developers and enterprise customers early next year.
