After Airtel and VI, Reliance Jio hikes prepaid tariff by 20 percent; New rates effective by Dec 1

New Delhi: Reliance Jio has become the latest telecom company to hike its tariff after telecom companies like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. Reliance Jio said it would raise tariffs for its prepaid users by around 20 per cent.

The revised tariffs will come into effect from December 1, the telecom major said.

After the price hike, the most premium Reliance Jio Rs 2399 plan will cost Rs 2879.  The facilities provided by the plan to the buyers remain same. The plan will provide 2GB of daily data, 100 daily SMS, unlimited calling for a time period of 365 days.

Some of the other popular unlimited plans that get a price hike are Rs 1299 plan, Rs 599 plan, Rs 555 plan, Rs 444 plan, Rs 399 plan etc. The Rs 1299 plan will now cost Rs 1559 for its users. The users can avail benefits such as 24GB data, 3600 SMS, unlimited calling along with a validity of 336 days. The Rs 599 will now cost Rs 719. It will provide 2GB daily data, 84 days validity, 100 SMS per day, unlimited calling etc. Similarly, the Rs 555 plan will now cost Rs 666. It offers users with 1.5GB data, 84 days validity, 100 SMS daily and unlimited calling.

The Rs 444 and Rs 399 plans which have a validity of 56 days will now cost Rs 533 and Rs 479 respectively. The Rs 533 plan offers 2GB daily data along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS/ day. Rs 479 plan offers benefits like 1.5GB daily data, unlimited calling, 100 SMS/day etc.

Users should keep this in mind that even data add-ons also get a significant price hike. Plans like Rs 51, Rs 101 and Rs 251 also get a price hike. The new prices for the plans are Rs 61, Rs 121, and Rs 301 respectively.

“The new unlimited plans will go-live on 1st December 2021 and can be opted from all existing touchpoints and channels,” Jio said.
