The government-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) gave quite a shock to its lifetime prepaid plan subscribers after it announced to discontinue all of its lifetime prepaid plans plans across the country. The state-owned telecom operator lifetime prepaid plans have now been cancelled across the country.

The company does not state any reason behind this decision, however, it does have a solution for existing customers of these plans. The current subscribers will reportedly be switched to the Rs 107 premium per minute plan.

The company will withdraw all the benefits of the lifetime prepaid plan after the transfer. The company has announced that the migration will begin from December 1.

The Rs 107 plan will be activated for the existing subscribers, which offers a validity period of 90 days. But, this plan does not offer the same perks as the lifetime plans.

BSNL lifetime plan subscribers to get new plan

The BSNL lifetime prepaid plan customers should be aware of the benefits of the Rs 107 premium per minute plan. The Rs 107 plan comes bundled with data, calls, and messages benefit.

The plan has a validity of 90-days and provides members with unlimited incoming calls. The plan comes with 10GB data balance that can be accessed for 30 days only. BSNL is bundling a total of 100 minutes of outbound calls that may only be accessible for 24 days, despite the fact that it is a per minute plan.

Apart from these, BSNL customers can enjoy some free benefits and privileges such as they will be able to download BSNL default tunes for a period of 60 days free of cost.

Other features of the package include 3GB of free data that is valid for 84 days. Users can use the 100 minutes free voice calling to contact anyone with other networks.

However, transferred users will be unable to take advantage of these freebies and privileges.

This change in BSNL’s prepaid plans comes at a time when other telecom companies like Vodafone Idea and Airtel are raising the price of prepaid plans.
