Jajpur:  Tension prevailed in Talajanga village under Jenapur police limits in the district on Saturday after some unidentified miscreants hacked a youth and dumped his body at a secluded place in the locality.

The deceased identified as Gopabandhu Sethi of the same village left his home at around 10 PM after receiving a phone call to meet someone and did not return. His body with multiple injury marks was found dumped on the backside of the panchayat office in the village this morning.

Following the incident Gopabandhu’s family members claimed it to be a case of murder over business rivalry and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. They said Gapabandhu worked as a JCB driver and was engaged in quarrying minerals from one Bichhakhani Hill located in the vicinity of the village. He might have fallen prey to a business rivalry between two groups involved in illegal mining in the hill, they suspected.

Jenapur Police reached the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation with the help of the dog squad and scientific team.

Jajpur SP along with Dharmasala Tehsildar and SDPO have also reached the spot and hoped for the arrest of the accused in the case soon.
