Kalahandi: A youth was killed after his bike hit a roadside tree in M Rampur area in Kalahandi district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Minaketan Bhoi of Budhikhaman village under Gochhadengen panchayat.
As per the report, Minaketan who visited Pudhelkuna village in some work yesterday was returning home this morning when the mishap took place. Due to reckless driving, the victim’s newly purchased bike skidded off the road to hit a roadside tree near Kusumel Chhak.
While the bike got mangled from the front under the impact of the collision Minaketan sustained grievous head injury and died on the spot a few minutes later.
Some bystanders spotted the body and called up 108 ambulance, which took the body to M Rampur Community Health Centre (CHC).
Local Police have reached the hospital and seized the body for autopsy.
