Kamakhyanagar: A youth sustained critical injury in cudgel attack by a group of people over a petty incident during a cricket match in Muktapashi village under Kamkhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The victim has been identified as Deepak Nayak (25), a resident of Harijan Sahi of the same village.
As per the report, Deepak and his friends from Harijan Sahi were busy playing cricket at a field located on the outskirts of the village when a group of youths reached there and had a heated argument with them.
After initial reprimand to the victim to leave the ground, they attacked him with a cudgel to inflict critical injuries.
Some locals rushed the victim to Kamakhyanagar Hospital for treatment post the incident, where his condition is stated to be serious.
