Youth beats elderly man to death in Keonjhar district, reason unknown
While the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, police detained the accused for interrogation after getting information about the crime.
Keonjhar: In a ghastly incident, a man reportedly beat an elderly man to death in Keonjhar district of Odisha on Friday. The crime took place at Dhangardiha village under Ghatagaon police station limits of the district.
According to reports, one Pana Naik reportedly came home under the influence of alcohol and started to fight the family members this afternoon. In the meantime, his neighbour Ramchandra Mahakud reached the spot and tried to pacify him.
However, Pana got furious and attacked Mahakud with a wooden stick, following which the latter fell to the ground and became senseless.
Mahakud’s family members rushed him to the Ghatagaon Community Health Centre for treatment. However, the doctor declared him brought dead.
