Yet another low pressure area over north Bay of Bengal: Heavy rainfall predicted in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Different parts of Odisha have been witnessing rainfall due to the well marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha­ West Bengal coasts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), meanwhile, predicted that another low pressure area is being formed.

The weather department informed that the low pressure area will be formed over the north Bay of Bengal by August 9 which is expected to trigger rainfall across the State between August 9 and August 14. However, heavy rainfall likely to lash the State on August 11.

Taking a serious note of the weather warning, the Odisha government has directed the district collectors to remain alert. Besides, the fishermen have been asked not the venture into the see for fishing.
