Berhampur: Mystery shrouded the death of a woman whose body was found lying near a railway track in Panchamma area under Golanthara police limits in Ganjam district today.
The incident came to light in the morning after some rail commuters spotted the body and informed railway officials.
After police reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigation, her name appeared to be Kumudini, as mentioned on a debit card found by the side of the body. A train ticket was also recovered from the spot pointing at a possible railway mishap.
While the deceased has been sent for autopsy and police are trying to ascertain her identity, some locals have claimed her to be an employee of SCB Medical in Cuttack.
