Balangir: Putting a question mark on the safety and security of temples in the district again, unidentified burglars decamped with donation money and ornaments worth lakhs from at least two temples in Khujenpali area under Sadar police limits here last night.
As per the report, some priests of Dhabaleswar temple reached its premise for morning puja and witnessed the locks of the donation boxes broken with cash missing. Later, they also found valuable ornaments of a Durga temple located on the same premises missing and called up police.
While police have reached the spot and started investigation, the authorities of the concerned temple are assessing the cost of loot items.
