Two Workers Die After Falling into Mine in Jajpur of Odisha

Two workers died after falling from an illegal mine under Jenapur police station of Odisha’s Jajpur district.

Jajpur: In a shocking incident, two workers died after falling from an illegal mine. The incident has come to fore from Lunibar mine under Jenapur police station of Odisha’s Jajpur district.  

According to sources, while working with a machine in the mine on Wednesday morning the accident took place. One laborer died on the spot while another worker was critically injured in the incident.

The injured was first rushed to the nearby health centre by the locals. He was later shifted to Cuttack Medical Centre as his condition deteriorated. It has been reported that he died while undergoing treatment there.

The deceased labourers were identified as Appu Raut of Gengutia village of Jenapur police station and Shantanu Khilar of Telkoi village of Keonjhar district. 

Reportedly, both the deceased were inside the machine. While working, the machine fell down from the top of mine. 

On being informed, police and tehsil administration reached the spot, rescued the injured and rushed him to the hospital. The cops have also initiated to probe into the matter.
