Jajpur: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly assaulting an on-duty woman traffic police inspector and injuring her near Chandikhol on Wednesday evening, police said today.
The accused have been identified as Sariful Hoque and Shaik Rizuan. Police said that both the accused run fast food stalls at Chandikhol.
Inspector Bijayini Malla from Chandikhol Traffic Police Station was injured after miscreants had pelted stones while she was checking vehicles at Mansamara square.
Police said that both the accused were arrested from their houses at Neulipur in the district. Police said that they are further investigating to ascertain the involvement of others in the incident.
