Berhampur: A motorcyclist was killed and another was injured when a truck collided head-on with their bike near the Deer Park in Taptapani of Ganjam district today.
One Sudhakar Raita of Alapanka village under Mohana Police station limits was going to Jakarapalli village of Patapura Police station area along with Sanjib Sabar. However, a speeding truck hit them near the Deer Park in Taptapani Ghat causing Sudhakar’s death on the spot.
Sanjib who sustained injuries following the accident has been admitted at Digapahandi Medical for treatment.
After the accident, the truck driver tried to flee from the spot but some local people caught hold of him and handed him over to the police.
Police is said to have started an investigation into the matter.
