Notably, the central and local trade unions have called for a nationwide strike on Tuesday and Wednesday protesting the Union government’s anti-labour and divestment policies.

The strike is being supported by All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) and Labour Progressive Federation (LPF) among others.
