Cuttack: The Cuttack SDJM Court on Tuesday sent Lipan Sahu, the husband of the deceased
The court sent Lipan to a 14-day judicial custody after rejecting his bail plea.
The Cuttack Commissionerate police, which arrested Lipan in connection with the death of Nikita yesterday, produced him before the court this evening.
Sahu was arrested by the Chauliaganj Police after hours of interrogation over the matter. Earlier, he was detained by the cops after the deceased actress’ family members filed a police complaint alleging that she has been murdered.
In his FIR, Nikita’s father Sanatan Behera had leveled murder allegation against her husband and mother-in-law. He had claimed that the duo had killed Nikita due to family problems.
Acting on Sanatan’s complaint, the cops had registered a case under Section 302, 306, 341 and 498 (A) of the IPC.
The actress and Lipun had tied the knot on November 25, 2016. They have a six-month-old baby boy.
