Cuttack: Choudwar police today forwarded three miscreants to the court for allegedly possessing a country made revolver on Saturday. Police said that the group of accused is involved in a number of robbery, loot and dacoity cases in Cuttack district.
The accused have been identified as Chittaranjan Das, Mitu Samal and Ananda Samal. ‘The accused were travelling on a scooty and were detained during routine patrolling. During their personal search, we found the firearm. We are trying to ascertain the source of procurement of the revolver,” said a police official.
Further investigation revealed the trio of being involved in atleast nine cases of robbery, dacoity, theft and burglary in various police stations in Cuttack district. We are further verifying their antecedents,” added the police official.
