Bhubaneswar: The first TED-Ed Talk by TED-Ed Club was organized in KiiT International School on 23rd October 2019. The Theme was ‘Concoction of Spirituality, Modernity & Art’. Eminent speakers Sister Deepa, Senior Member Awakening India, Bramhakumari Society; Dr. Falguni Vasavada, Head Strategic Management, MICA College, Ahmedabad, and Padma Shree Sudarshan Patnaik, Eminent Sand Artist delivered talks on spirituality, modernity, and art respectively.

Delivering talk on spirituality, Sister Deepa said India needs ignited minds to become a world power. “We can ignite our minds by intense feelings of our virtues and qualities. Everyone has some virtues and qualities. To make yourself self-confident one should have to achieve these virtues and qualities through spiritual understanding and meditation. We can connect ourselves with Supreme Father through meditation”, she said.
Speaking on Modernity, Dr. Falguni Vasavada said, outer makeup and beauty is not modernity. Modernity is internal makeup and is about evolution. There are three paths of modernity. Path one is ‘my life, my rules’. One should not bother about other’s thinking on himself. One should take his/her own decision for his/her life. He/she should not influence others. One should be modern in thought process and in broadness. The second path is equality- gender equality. One should change his / her notions of equality. Gender equality is demonstrated to modernity. Third is body positive. One should have to raise about his/her body shape. One should not bother about his/her body shape. One should take it in positive way, she added.
Speaking on Art, Shri Patnaik said, Art, is a form of creativity. Creativity is everyone’s inner quality. It may be creativity in education, sports, art and culture. One can raise the height by utilizing his creativity. So one should have self confidence and should develop positivity. Positivity and self confidence can take you a new height.
In her welcome address, Dr. Mona Lisa Bal said, KiiT International School is the only school in the state of Odisha & second in the country to host TED Talk event and to have been officially registered under the illustrious brand of TED as we run a TED-Ed club for the students. This would be an inaugural event of the club. TED-Ed organized in KIIT International School amid much enthusiasm.
Among others, Smt. Saswati Bal, President, KIIT & KISS; Dr. Sanjay Suar, Principal, KiiT International School were present. As many as 1500 students from different schools of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar participated in the event.
