Balasore: A drug addict was thrashed by villagers of Chhanua village under Basta police station limits today after he was caught while snatching a gold locket of a kid.
As per reports, the youth a brown sugar addict was about to escape from the villager after committing snatching but locals managed to catch him.
Later local tied the youth to a coconut tree and thrashed him. Later police reached the spot to rescue the youth but the police personnel also faced the wrath of the locals.
“We have been demanding action against drugs peddlers in our locality, but the police have remained silent. A number of youths in our area are getting involved in criminal activities,” said a local.
