Balasore: The video of a woman brutally thrashing her own 7-year-old grandson in Gangadharpur village under Basta block of Balasore district has gone viral on social media
In the video purportedly shot by a relative, the woman can be seen kicking and torturing her own grandson. Though the incident happened on Friday, it came to light after the video went viral today.
Neighbours of the woman alleged that she has been assaulting her grandson for months as both his father and mother are working as labourers in Mumbai.
The Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Balasore has taken strong cognizance of the matter and said that action will be taken against the elderly woman. “ The video has come to our notice and we will instruct concerned officials to rescue the child,” said a member of the CWC, Balasore.
