Renowned Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik wishes Virat Kohli a happy birthday with sand sculpture

Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik marked Indian cricketer Virat Kohli's birthday with a remarkable sand sculpture at Puri sea beach in Odisha.

Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik marked the occasion of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s 35th birthday with a remarkable sand sculpture at Puri sea beach in Odisha.

The impressive creation, standing at 7 feet in height, depicted Virat Kohli inside a replica of Eden Garden, a renowned cricket stadium. To further enhance the sculpture, Pattnaik added 35 sand bats and included some sand-made cricket balls, utilizing approximately 5 tons of sand in the process. Pattnaik’s sand art Institute students collaborated with him to complete this extraordinary tribute.

Sudarsan Pattnaik conveyed his birthday wishes to Virat Kohli through his intricate sand sculpture, which not only celebrated the cricketing maestro’s special day but also extended good wishes to the entire Indian cricket team in anticipation of the upcoming World Cup.

Sudarsan Pattnaik, a Padma awardee and globally recognized sand artist, has been a prominent figure in the field, having participated in more than 65 international sand art competitions and festivals. He has garnered numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the country.

Beyond his artistic achievements, Pattnaik also utilizes his sand sculptures as a means to raise awareness on crucial issues. Some of his notable works include sculptures addressing topics like saving tigers, environmental conservation, countering terrorism, combating global warming, and highlighting the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
