Rare eagle rescued in Odisha’s Puri district

Puri: A rare eagle was rescued in Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday. A teenager rescued the bird from near the Gopinath temple in Pankala village near Chandanpur.

As per reports, a few boys of the village had gone in a rally when one of them found the rare bird behind the Gopinath temple. Upon asking, the people present there called it a Garuda pakkhi (eagle bird).

The boy who found the rare bird asked in the village if anyone wants to keep the bird but as there were nobody to take the bird home, he took it himself to his house. He made the injured bird to drink milk. The condition of the ailing bird is improving.

Talking to Kalinga TV the boy said that he never seen such a bird before. However, he has sheltered it in their home. He said that he was very happy to have found the bird. However, no information could be received from the forest department in this regard.
