Jajpur: A rape accused escaped from Jajpur sub-jail by scaling the wall of the jail on Thursday evening.
As per reports the accused Rajesh Munda was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Jajpur Road. Munda was lodged in the jail since August 29.
Jail authorities have lodged a formal complaint with the Jajpur police station. Sources said that though CCTVs have been installed at the jail, those were not functioning properly.
Jail authorities said that a probe has been ordered in this connection and disciplinary action will be initiated against those found responsible.
