Jagatsighpur: A man allegedly killed his wife by smashing her head and later set her body on fire at Baragol village under Sadar Police limits today.
The matter came to light after the man identified as Rudra Prasanna Rout surrendered himself before the police. Police said that the Rout killed his wife Rashmita over family feud.
Police said that the couple who married nine years ago has a five-year-old son. “Rout used to run a poultry firm but he closed the unit in recent past. He told us that both of them had an argument over a petty issue following which he smashed her head. He also took out petrol from his motorcycle and set the house on fire,” said a police official.
Police have seized the half-burnt body of the wife and are currently further interrogating the husband.
